NOTES: The pressure will be on troubled Bala Town to pick up three precious points when they host already-relegated Llanelli. The Lakesiders are winless since the split (one draw, three defeats) and have taken only two wins from their last third and they could well be joining Llanelli if they don’t start building momentum to chip away at the five-point gap that currently separates them safety.

Elsewhere, play-off outsiders Cardiff Met and Briton Ferry face each other at Cyncoed. It’s been quite a season for Ferry, who have already equalled last season’s league 32-point total. It seems unlikely – especially given Haverfordwest’s four-point advantage and recent strong form – but could Briton Ferry spark and go on a surprising late run? There’s something about them that makes it difficult for me to rule them out completely.

Former Ammanford captain Rhys Fisher is among five runners who will run from Ammanford to Afan Lido on Sunday in memory of Ioan Evans, ahead of the teams’ meeting this weekend. Fisher will be joined by Ammanford AFC president Rhodri Jones, striker Matthew Jones, former commercial manager Jason Pocock, and Morriston Town physiotherapist Richard Pelta, who will run the approximately 30‑mile route to the Marston’s Stadium. Donations can be made to the Jac Lewis Foundation and the Big Moose Charity. DONATE HERE

NOTES: Just to wish all the best to those running on Sunday. Despite being under the most tragic of circumstances, it’s heart warming to see clubs coming together like this and I hope they can raise a significant amount for such an important cause. Please donate, even if it’s only a small amount.

Meanwhile, the build-up continues ahead of Nathaniel MG Cup final with Barry Town’s Ben Margetson warning his side that showing too much respect to TNS on Saturday could be a costly mistake. (Cymru Leagues)

Welsh Football Notebook, Wednesday 25th February

Tuesday night roundup; Nathaniel MG Cup Final build-up; FAW Trophy draw today…

TUESDAY’S RESULTS
JD Cymru South
Ammanford 2-1 Aberystwyth Town
Trefelin BGC P-P Cambrian United
Ynyshir Albions 2-3 Llantwit Major

WBS League Cup Southern QF
Newport City 2-4 Afan Lido

Elite Stands UK Ardal South East
Goytre AFC 1-1 Abertillery Bluebirds

NOTES: Ammanford boosted their promotion push with a crucial win over in-form Aberystwyth. Jonathan Evans levelled just before half-time after Declan John’s header had given the hosts an early lead. A second-half spot-kick from Matt Delaney secured the points, allowing Ammanford to reclaim third place and move two points clear of Aber in fourth.

Elsewhere, Ynyshir were denied a rare win after a late collapse saw Llantwit Major score twice in additional time to claim a last‑gasp 3–2 victory, whilst the night’s big top‑of‑the‑table clash between Trefelin and Cambrian United was called off earlier in the day due to a waterlogged pitch.

Afan Lido reached the last four of the WBS League Cup after an impressive 4–2 triumph over Newport City. Lido will visit Airbus UK Broughton for their semi-final tie after Liam Griffiths netted a second‑half brace for Lee Surman’s side.

Rob Jenkins will referee Saturday’s Nathaniel MG Cup final with Ian Bird and Steffan Davies serving as assistant referees and Sion Davies as fourth official. (Cymru Leagues X account)

Sgorio have posted their preview of the first major final of the domestic season. (Sgorio)

And the build up continues as the Barry Town lads try and guess the career routes of their teammates. (Cymru Leagues X account)

NOTES: Nathaniel MG Cup final tickets are available online for Saturday’s game at the Dragon Bet stadium, Bridgend. Tickets are priced at £8 for adults, £5 for young adults and seniors (17-21, 65+), and £3 for U16s. Tickets can also be purchased on the gate on matchday for increased prices.

Llantwit Major have announced their iconic Boca-style shirt and away shirt are both on sale. (Official X account)

The Dragon Signs Amateur Trophy semi-final draw will take place live at 1pm this afternoon on RedWall+. Ties will be played on the weekend of 20-22 March. (FAW site)

NOTES: Only Pontardawe Town (Tier 3) are assured of their place in the last four with the remaining ties between Bangor City 1876 (T3) and Llangefni Town (T3), Bridgend Street (T4) and Porthcawl Town Athletic (T4), and Penmaenmawr Phoenix (T3) and Llanefydd (T3) still yet to be played. Kyle Copp’s late winner secured Ponty a 4-3 over Prestatyn Town on Saturday, with bad weather forcing a late change of venue to prevent rescheduling the game. Penmaenmawr and Llanefydd will have to meet again when their tie was abandoned due to player safety and heavy rain after 67 minutes.
